Anna From Frozen Polymer Clay

Update: you can now buy this miniature Anna from Frozen in my Etsy shop!

I started making some Frozen chibis for the Christmas tree this year as I thought my girls would really like the idea and thought they’d be pretty easy to make as polymer clay chibis go.

As you can see, my test Anna turned out pretty well so I’ll be using her as my template for more. I also made an Elsa at the same time, but she didn’t look quite right so I’ve scrapped her for the moment:

I always work with the Fimo colours I already have for test models, but I have since ordered some colours specifically to make Anna and Elsa clay figures so I can make a few Frozen chibis to give out to my family and friends at Christmas time. Here’s what I ordered:

The Fimo colours you see here include 505 (Effects Mint) and 306 (Blue Ice Quartz) which are going to be perfect for my second attempt at Elsa. You can also see Fimo 112 (Effects gold glitter), which I’m going to use for Anna’s sash instead of brown, and there’s a lovely lemon (Soft 105) for Elsa’s hair.

I often get asked what I use for the face detail in my clay chibis, I like to use Staedtler pigment liner (Fineliner) in 0.1mm for the eyelashes, and for the cheek and eye dots I use DoCrafts Artiste all-purpose acrylic paint in blush pink and noir. Anna has also had a coat of Fimo semi-gloss varnish since these photos were taken.

She was a lot of fun to make as I like working out hairstyles and fiddly plaits! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.
