Hoooked Zpagetti Rimini Handbag

I bought a couple of Hoooked Zpagetti bag kits a while ago and was determined to work at least one of them up by summer! My determination has paid off as I’ve nearly finished the Rimini crochet handbag:

This handbag is crocheted using a 12mm hook (supplied) and uses 1.5 to 2 balls of the included grey Zpagetti yarn depending on how much you stick to the pattern.

I made a few things with the yarn before going on to complete the bag, and can recommend this super bulky yarn for crocheting bowls, baskets, placemats, or even a rug or mat! It gives lovely defined stitches and because its so thick, it works up very quickly.

The included instructions are easy, but also a bit useless as the pattern could be written in a couple of lines – the whole bag is worked up in double crochet (or single in US terms).

I’ll be sure to post some pics when the bag is finished. I bought my bag kits from Hobbycraft for £19.99.

    1. Hi Liz, I picked mine up at Hobbycraft. However, you can make your own yarn like this with a Mollie Makes tutorial that I’m featuring in my next blog post, all you need is an old seamless t-shirt!

  1. I’ve just bought this kit from John Lewis and was looking forward to an evening of making it last night, only to find that the supplied instructions are only in French. Now French is a fine language but unfortunately I failed to get my o’ level over 35 years ago, and apart from emergency French, am a bit lost – especially with crochet as I am a complete beginner. I’ve tried to find the instructions on line, but to no avail. I am hoping John Lewis will do something about this. Their own reviewer gave the kit five stars for being fun to do – pity she didn’t look in the bag before making up the review!
